Readers Respond: Practices from Our Community

by Samir Knego

Vita Poetica seeks to foster a community of artists whose work explores religion and spirituality. This community gives us opportunities to think through our faith through the art and writing of others, and also to better understand each other and appreciate different ways of expressing and living out faith.

In our new Readers Respond series, we want to hear from you, Vita Poetica readers, about the spiritual practices that sustain and inspire you. This is also a place for your questions and concerns about the world and a chance to find new practices to incorporate into your spiritual life.

Here’s how to get involved:

ANSWER:

As we approach celebrations of light (literal and metaphorical) in several traditions, tell us about the role of light in your spiritual life. We’d love to hear about the practices and activities you use to honor light–this could include meditations, journal prompts, visio divina, body prayers, or any other ways you engage with your faith.

ASK:

We also want to include your questions/prompts in future issues. This could include requests for practices about a particular theme or ones that seek to process something happening in the world.

Send your responses and/or questions to samir@vitapoetica.org for inclusion in the next issue. We’re accepting responses to this issue’s prompt through December 15th; questions are accepted on a rolling basis.
