Ellie Benedict

An energetic, creative thinker, Ellie is committed to enacting social change through the arts and humanities. Whether she’s behind her desk as the Development Specialist at Maryland Humanities or in the ceramics, fiber arts, or fashion studio, Ellie centers play, queerness, and the divine in her work. Ellie has a BA in Art History and Museum Studies from the University of Michigan and an MA in Arts Management from American University, where she focused on equitable philanthropy and community-centric fundraising. She is a member of Seekers Church, an intentional Christian congregation. Her themes of embracing chance and change as ways to invite God into collaboration can be found in her preaching at Seekers and in the pieces she contributes to Vita Poetica.
