Each quarter, we anchor our community in a common conversation through a theme, and we hold both small and large gatherings to explore, create, and share with one another.
Our regular event series is inspired by the rhythms of the creative process…
EXPLORE: In the first half of the quarter, we hold small gatherings in the form of salons and workshops. These are smaller events to allow for deeper exploration and sharing. Salons revolve around conversation, art appreciation, contemplative exercises, and creative prompts. They may be based on the quarterly theme or some variation of it. Workshops are more hands-on, craft-based, or immersive experiences. These are general definitions, but we hope salons and workshops will take on many creative forms!
CREATE: Toward the middle of the quarter, we hope to begin holding co-creating / co-working sessions, in which we convene to work on individual projects. If there’s interest in the future, we’d like to help facilitate the formation of workshop groups for support, accountability, and / or critique.
SHARE: Toward the end of the quarter, we’ll all come together to share our work in a casual, friendly format, such as an open-mic night or pop-up gallery. The emphasis of these gatherings is not on perfection but on celebrating creativity through presence and practice.
This quarterly rhythm will continue throughout the year.
We also hope there will be special events interspersed throughout that need not tie into the quarterly theme. Please contact us if you’d like to try something! We really envision this community as self-forming in some ways—something we all co-create together, contribute to, and are simultaneously nourished by. So we welcome your ideas and involvement!
