Keith Seat

Keith Seat came to Washington, DC, in 1985 to work in a large litigation firm, following college, law school, and a federal judicial clerkship in the Midwest where he had been born, although raised abroad. Following many years at the law firm, Keith became general counsel of a U.S. Senate Judiciary subcommittee for several years, before going in-house at a large telecom firm. Keith then devoted himself to mediation and conflict resolution for many years, which brought him to special education disputes. For nearly a decade, Keith has been a hearing officer, adjudicating special education cases in DC, as well as regularly mediating court-connected civil cases.

Keith married his high school sweetheart 45 years ago. They have two grown daughters, and recently were delighted by the arrival of their first grandchild. Keith has long been a serious black & white photographer, after studying photography at Oxford University and putting himself (and his wife) through law school with wedding photography and black & white portraiture, along with selling fine art photographs in shows and fine restaurants. While appreciating the ease of digital processes, Keith still misses the smell of fixer in a traditional darkroom. Keith also loves getting out in nature for hiking, wilderness camping trips, and regular kayaking.
