Father to Son

Keep yourself free from the over-complicated.
Look at your hand on the table, beside the bread:
on this clean cloth, the two things could not be clearer—
from father to son and son to father.
Love the earth's heavenly countryside
and the joy that apparent sorrows hide,
the window, peaceful, and the door, severe—
from father to son and son to father.
And all the objects kneeling in their places
and the fidgeting mutt who yet surpasses
mere things, undoubting sweet believer—
from father to son and son to father.
